SHELF LIFE
Shelf Life is an acoustic indie rock artist from Philly, who recently released Alright, Okayyy on June 28, 2016. The album features many unique, yet cohesive sounds. Songs vary from more psychedelic instrumentals like “Adult Swim Bumper” to lo-fi, dreamy tracks like “Ybba Rof” to more raw acoustic tunes such as “Unhealthy”. My favorite song off of the album is “Mortal Bus Boy". Ironically enough, I listened to this song on the bus as I made my way through the city in the rain

EVAN BUTTON
I’d like to start off by saying that Evan Button’s music is not new to me. I’ve been following his work for quite a while now. However, Evan's style on his most recent album achieved by mixing an acoustic, singer-songwriter vibe with dashes of reggae and hints of blues has progressed significantly since I first listened to his music. JANE WANES
Philly based artist Jane Wanes recently released pancake on June 27, 2016, which features four raw lo-fi, experimental tracks. The first song “Nowah” is the longest song featured and is easily my favorite of the bunch. I’m a sucker for lyrics and this song tells an interesting narrative about a person named Nowah. The quirky lyrics are contrasted by a lingering melancholy vibe. “Nowah” also paints a vivid picture through use of relatable details such as Nowah’s dimples, which

TOTAL BUMMER
Total Bummer’s self-titled EP released on June 23, 2016 is the first effort from this Atlanta, Georgia punk/pop-punk band. Clocking in at just under 8 minutes, these three introductory tracks speed through and have fun while doing it. The EP opens with “Prozac and Caffeine,” which immediately pushes you into a sweaty, circle pit. The song feels like a college anthem for someone who really wants to drop out. The lyrics are charmingly self-deprecating-- not whiny. The writer se

PETITE LEAGUE
I honestly never heard of this band until my buddy texted me about them a couple of days ago. Since then, I've consistently listened to Petite League every single day. No Hitter is this Syracuse band's newest album, which was released on June 19, 2016. All the songs on the album are roughly three minutes or less, which makes for fast, easy listening. No Hitter has a variety of different sounds that merge together in an unexpectedly cohesive way. Want a relaxed acoustic song?
